NGA's Homeland Security Project
NGA's homeland security interoperability project has begun. Governor Leavitt, as the chair, has met with teams from each of the states that will be involved in the project. The effort will focus on creating national interoperability in the following areas:
- Justice
- Law enforcement
- Public health, agriculture, food, and water
- Homeland security management and first responders
Teams from each of the states will develop and coordinate pilot projects on the national and state level. The project proposal and governance structure has been shared with team members and the Board of Overseers is being assembled.
Last August, the Governors announce the top ten priorities for the states in homeland security.
