Novell and UMD

The Utah Master Directory (UMD) uses Novell's eDirectory to authenticate and support single sign-on for state workers to a range of web-based applications.  We are charged with creating a scope and vision for a secure citizen directory that will eventually allow for secure access and personalization for Utah citizens through the utah.gov portal.  An article in MSNBC discusses how Mt. Sinai Health in New York is using Novell's infrastructure to deliver web-based services.

It looks like Novell may be on the rebound.  Their products are really selling well in Europe and their third quarter profits announced yesterday were up substantially.

New Utah Weblogs
Brent Sanderson and Nancy McConnell have added their names to the growing list of Utah bloggers.  Brent oversees the state's financial datawarehouse which is an excellent resource for state agencies.  Nancy is a new product manager for the Division of Information Technology Services and is involved with some great new initiatives like the mobile data network.  In time, I expect to see some great content in both of these weblogs.
