Interview with Web optimization expert Andy King Adrian holovaty has conducted a nice interview with Andy King, author Speed Up Your Site: Web Site Optimization, about Web optimization -- making pages load and work efficiently -- and how it applies to news/information sites and weblogs. Andy actually lives in Ann Arbor (pretty close to my Rochester).  Ann Arbor seems to be one of Michigan's few tech towns.  We were recently there for a concert at the Ark and I was surpised at the number of laptops in a coffee shop we ran past. 4:04:02 PM    comment []  trackback []

Looking forward to another book by Alan Cooper Sifting through my email today I came across Cooper's newsletter.  I was pleasantly surprised to find the last article announcing Alan is writing an update to About Face - one of the first widely read books that dealt with interaction design.  Granted, it was originally written in 1995 and a lot has changed since then, but this is was and still is really good stuff. These days, usability in interactive design is not a foreign concept.  However, we've got leaps and bounds ahead of us.  It increasingly affects more and more people everyday as we become more digitized: cell phones, computers, laptops, ovens, etc. 1:01:50 PM    comment []  trackback []
