qtvr2flash is a tool for Windows which apparently can convert QuickTime VR panoramas, object movies, and picture series to Flash5 files. The page is in German, so I may be missing some key points. One of their selling tools is a chart at the bottom of the page which shows the penetration of various middleware tools across the browser population:
Flash Player: 98%
Java: 90%
Acrobat Reader: 76%
Windows Media Player: 63%
RealPlayer: 53%
QuickTime Player: 38%
Not sure where the data comes from, but it doesn't look good for QuickTime.

Purpose |
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
