DPreview has a review of the Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel, and makes this strong statement:
"This camera is probably the most fundamentally important step for digital SLR's since the introduction of the Nikon D1. It will place digital SLR's into the hands of consumers (with a moderate budget) and will probably also have a very strong negative effect on the $1,000 prosumer digital camera market."

DCRP has a first look at the camera.

Imaging Resource also reviews the 300D.

All of the above used pre-production versions of the camera.

Personal note: VRlog has been quiet the previous four days because I went on a backpack trip to the High Sierra. Three friends and I went over Lamarck Col to Darwin Lakes, then to Evolution Valley, Piute Canyon, Humphreys Basin, Puite Pass, and finally back to North Lake. The NWS's "slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms" each day turned into 100% chance of thunderstorms, hail, rain (although usually it was brief). VRlog will resume regular updates today.

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
