QuickTime Alternative is freeware that allows Interent Explorer to play embedded QuickTime files without having to install the official QuickTime software. The package comes with Media Player Classic which can play QuickTime movies, but I don't think it is capable of playing VRs. It works on Windows only. I'm curious how they did this. The download size 6.9MB is not incredibly smaller than QuickTime, but is that its main advantage? I don't recommend installing it because the provenance of the software is not clear. Lastly, how long before Apple gets involved because at the minimum it uses QuickTime in the name? It also displays Apple's QuickTime icon when the installer is downloaded to a PC. Digital VooDoo says no to Mac, from DIGIT. 'Digital Voodoo called a reliance on QuickTime [^] Apple's versatile media technology [^] as having "some fundamental flaws."' Digital VooDoo makes professional video-editing cards. Apparently they think the future is going to be all 10 bit RGB, and they don't feel QT is compatible with that direction. 7:25:05 AM
