CNN has a story on New high-resolution camera nears virtual reality.
The R1 captures images on a 9 inch by 18 inch piece of film, and when
scanned results in a 2.6GB digital image. Then there is a
post-production phase necessary to correct for the super high-contrast attributes of the
aerial photography film. "The process is so lengthy that the one-time
painter can produce only five to eight images a year."

Purpose |
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
