The Career Management Services (CMS) Director at Insead is a big fan of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and today she gave a presentation that touched on how one's type should be used as a guide to navigating career decisions.
A few interesting figures:
Informational interviews come fairly naturally to E's, but I's do better market research and are generally better prepared.
In case interviews, E's will get the big picture easily, but will be criticized for missing the key data points. I's will get each of the key points through effective breakdown of the case, but will be criticized for missing the big picture. Knowing your type will very much help you to avoid these situations.
"NT" types appear as 30% of the general population, and around 60% at Insead.
And the single most interesting fact that will cause an immense light bulb to go off in your head, so bright that you should go get sunglasses before reading the following:
75% of all men are T
75% of all women are F
Go ponder that now. I will be thinking about this one for weeks...
Lucky's type is ENTP. What's yours?
