Jack Soll's Quotes of the Day from Applied Statistics

[when discussing the effects of regression to the mean, which is, coincidentally, why regression analysis is named as such and not "fitting straight lines"]  "So when predicting your grades for P2 given your P1 grades, you have to remember that people with good grades in P1 might be smarter or harder-working, but they also had some good luck.  People with poor grades might have been dumber or went to more parties, but they also had some bad luck.  In P2, all of the people who had good luck in P1 will now have average luck, and all of the people with bad luck in P1 will now have average luck.  So there is still hope."

[while the class worked to solve the problem entitled "The Mystery of Women's Weight]  "If you are doing something with shoe size, you are on the wrong track."

I was thinking that it would be neat to have some dynamic content on this blog, but I don't really know how to start doing that.  I did some quick searching and found this tool which does exactly what I wanted.  I'll be experimenting over the next few weeks; expect some funky results in the interim.
