Went to see the wizard of McWhimsey, and they pulled the big red lever. Ouch. It always stings a bit, but Lucky had forgotten what it feels like, having seen six years pass since he had to interview for a job. Ah well. Feedback tomorrow from one of the interviewers.
Due to completely unrelated events, within a couple hours of the ding, Lucky received two handwritten letters from friends, such a rare occurrence these days; beautiful colored bits of paper that made him smile. And for that he is extremely grateful.
Afterwards, a quick dinner with friends, and back to work at school, joking and laughing with friends... a little levity and perspective.
Life moves on.
