Back from vacation. Having haggled for several items in a classic market setting, Lucky would like to thank Professor Dierickx again for his insights on the art of negotiation. Once a frightened, hapless mark, Lucky is now a confident, educated mark; I cannot express how dramatic this change has been.
Collecting information; deciding on a no-deal option; creating a position; controlling the flow of information; making credible commitments; communicating through a pattern of concessions; all this seemed so natural after so much practice. What was previously bewildering and unpleasant seemed, dare I say, amusing and fun. I look forward to more practice, and more experiential learning, in the future.
