On learning that we live in so-called South Beach*, people often comment on its trendiness. But the real attraction for us is the urban lifestyle, for lack of a better word -- the ability to reach useful and/or interesting places on foot. Case in point: I just returned a cable TV converter, stopped by the Post Office, and picked some some fresh-squeezed juice, all within a 1 block radius of our apartment. Nice. * The annoying but convenient short form of the "South Beach" nickname is "SoBe" -- 2 syllables, long vowels. South Beach is basically just the southern end of the City of Miami Beach, from around 21st Street south. Or from around 40th Street south, according to some realtors. 1:48:16 PM    comment []
