Cheshire Dave produces a good-looking and thoughtful site called Mastication is Normal. His mini movie Behind The Typeface: Cooper Black, looking like a VH-1 exposé, uses the trendy nature of font fashion as a comedic device. But I have another reason for writing about him. Not too surprisingly, Dave asks for donations to cover bandwidth. I sent him 2 bucks thru Paypal -- it's a pretty big movie, and I was already planning to send at least a few people to the site. Two dollars doesn't sound like much, although I later realized that it buys up to a Gigabyte of data transfer, these days. Anyway, to my point. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the following email: > Dear John, > > Thanks so much for your donation. You made my night! > > Take care, > Cheshire As I replied to Cheshire, it's not often that you can make someone's night for 2 dollars.
