First Amendment Goes Too Far, Say Half of Those Polled CBS News reports Support For 1st Amendment Slipping among residents of the USA (I hesitate to call them "Americans"). About half of the respondents believe "the government should have the freedom to monitor religious groups in the interest of national security," according to the article. I would remind these people of Martin Niemöller's famous words.
