[Item Permalink] Sherlock vs. Watson, a rerun -- Comment()
The Sherlock tool of Mac OS X behaves better than it used to. Some channels even have descriptions in Finnish. See Sherclock main window in Finnish and a Jaguar search. Thus the Sherlock tool is becoming usable. However, I still prefer Watson and continue to use it. (Sherlock actually isn't even in the Dock on my iBook.)

Some interesting new software packages are available for Mac OS X. iMol is a promising too for visualizing molecules. See a screenshot.

I managed to do another trick with Radio: I added a list of recent titled posts to the right column of the weblog pages. This seems a nice way of distinguishing the longer and perhaps more important posts from the minor notes.

A couple of Mac OS X items. Fink is (sort of) available for Jaguar. Fink makes it easy to get a lot of Unix-based codes running on Mac OS X. Also, HotApp 1.6 is available. This little tool makes it easy to define new keyboard commands for actions, e.g., to activate the screen saver.

I made some furher modifications to the blog theme, and now this is relatively close to what I want. I would like to get rid of the heavy graphics and replace them with HTML and CSS coding, but my design skills are too limited to start going into that. So, it is best to stick with the current theme. "If it works, don't break it."

[Item Permalink] Radio Community -- Comment()
Why I decided to continue with Radio? One reason was the geek mentality: this isn't a ready-made system but makes it possible to experiment with new things and possibilities. Another reason was the community. There are dozens of interesting bloggers using Radio, and I want to see what they are doing. Here is a list of some of the interesting blogs: Of course, there are many others. Have to keep looking for the interesting writers.

Based on the feedback from Kuro5hin, I decided to split my article on writing into two parts: I also note that the first article is now quite short and needs polishing. But now the reader is not bothered by a long and tedious list of books.
