John Robb points to Lou Dobbs (NYDailyNews) and writes: "Using markets to predict future events.  Thumbs up says Lou.  The upside on this flap is that Poindexter is now gone, and all of his foolishness in regards to Total Information Awareness."

[Item Permalink] Getting iSight to work -- Comment()
I received my iSight videoconferencing camera today, and got it to work. However, the Firewire cable provided with the camera didn't work. (Apple System Profiler didn't regognice the device, although the green light did come on in the camera.) Fortunately I had another cable, which did work. This cable is thicker, and thus the camera does not currently fit in the holder provided by Apple. I hope to get a replacement cable as soon as possible. Update: I contacted Apple support by phone and they promised to send a replacement Firewire cable.

Here is a picture of me captured with iChat AV. (I used Command-C to copy a frame of the video window.)

I now have 832 messages in the spam folder of Apple Mail. This is getting to be annoying. Fortunately the adaptive spam filter still catches over 3/4 of all incoming spam. (Although I have been a bit lazy in teaching the filter lately.)
