Last week I looked at the example number six of the Elmer tutorial, incompressible flow passing a step. Example number seven consists of calculating the stream lines of the flow. Here are the results, from top to bottom: pressure, abs. velocity, and streamlines.

To solve this problem I had to compile the Fortran 90 code for solving the stream function. The solution consists of first solving the Navier-Stokes equations, and then solving the equations for the stream function.

Bruce Schneier writes in the new CRYPTO-GRAM (March 15, 2004) about the Microsoft Source Code Leak: 'According to an Information Week article, "Microsoft said Wednesday that it has sent warning letters to people who've illegally downloaded Windows source code." If you only think about the hacker threat, this is an extraordinarily dumb move. The code is already out there. It's public. There's no taking it back. Any bad guys who want the code now have it, and won't be deterred by any lawyer letter. The only thing Microsoft's lawyers are doing is preventing any good guys from looking at the code, and maybe finding vulnerabilities that Microsoft can then fix.'
