What we need is an uber XML standard & Web Services Jack Serfass and David Wroe's essay 'XML's time-ticking bomb' shows how the proliferation of XML standards is increasing complexity and eventually, costs. On a related topic, Frank Moss (Tivoli/Bowstreet) has a theory in 'Web services' dirty little secret'.
