.Net vs. J2EE wars & an awesome .Net development tool

I gather articles, experiment results, opinions, etc. on the .Net vs. J2EE wars. These are to address my clients' concerns. Jim Farley has two articles on the topic (similar content) at O'Reilly.com and Software Magazine Online. Amongst others are CNet Asia, Microsoft and IBM's response to Microsoft's Web Services comparison experiments. All good reading.

I found the Veritest's Performance & Scalability Test results very interesting - .Net wins hands down in both cached and non-cached scenarios. While there were differences in Oracle's loading and configuration which renders the comparison almost moot, the interesting factor is that there is a constant gap in the 'per page response time' across the board (# of current users) but no explaination is given in the experiment's documentation.

Awesome .Net development tool - I found .Net Class Browser which is packaged with the 'Web Matrix' ASP.Net development IDE (you have to download the entire package). It also integrates with your local (or online) .Net SDK docs and shows the IL ! Yes, you can even add the Groove assemblies from the GAC ! Moreover, it's free !
