National ID Card

While I was pondering the hour glass in my security fix/SP2 fiasco this evening, I did catch that the national AP reporter quoted only one DMV official in his story regarding the security of our personal data in the nation's State drivers' license systems...the ones soon to be upgraded to Federal standards so we'll all be more secure.

"There is a strong sense of protection of privacy by all of the administrators of DMV records, because we know the value of the information we've been entrusted with," said George Tatum, North Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicle commissioner. "We just want you to be who you say you are."

It's nice to know isn't it that our state administrators have a strong sense.  Funny that the reporter would pick a state though that hands out drivers' licenses to illegal aliens like candy.

Now, if we could all be who we say we are.
