I have to code in C today

It has been a while since I had to code in C. A customer wants a custom application using available (in C) packet sniffer and expert system shell libraries, so it seemed most expedient to just do the whole thing in C.

Working with POSIX compatible pthreads is bit more of a hassle than using threads in Java (which is not even quite as easy as using threads in Xanalys Common Lisp or VisualWorks Smalltalk - but that is a blog for another day).

Anyway, I am having fun :-)
