Stupid attack on Open Source Software: DARPA decision to not fund OpenBSD

Usually, I like DARPA for the technologies that they have enabled in the past.

However, this is stupid! Open Source does not specifically aid terrorist states.

Danger!! Cell Phones enable terrorists! - BAN All Cell Phones

OK, I am kidding about this, but you get my point.

A few years ago, the NSA (our National Security Agency) did a great service for US businesses, universities, government organizations, etc;: they monitored security flaws in both Microsoft Windows and Linux. They also submitted Linux patches to tighten up the security for Linux - a good way to spend our tax dollars! A little spending by the NSA was making our infrastructure safer. Unfortunately, I read that they stopped doing this under political pressure.

I think that this action might be due to political lobbying by M$crosoft

But, I am not sure... Email me if you have seen any relevant news stories about this.
