Buzzflash: "In Raw Deal, Conason reveals the fraudulent bait-and-switch gambit that Rove and Norquist (with the help of the ubiquitous GOP 'framer', Frank Luntz) are trying to pull off: they'll have Bush talk of 'strengthening' Social Security, while taking steps to bring about its demise. The only people that would be ensured of prosperity under Bush's plan are Wall Street brokers. Under Bush, one of America's great success stories would become one of its riskiest adventures, leaving many senior citizens destitute. Social Security accomplished the unthinkable. It turned the seniors of America, as a group, into one of the more secure populations in our country. Before Social Security, the elderly were without any guaranteed support system. Now the Busheviks want to convert social security for our seniors into social insecurity."

CommonDreams: "The 132-member Group of 77, the largest single coalition of developing nations, has sent a letter of protest to Secretary-General Kofi Annan implicitly decrying the U.N. Secretariat's efforts to appease U.N.-bashing right-wing conservatives, both inside and outside the U.S. Congress."

Bush has managed to alienate both Americans and foreign nations.

Guardian: "Tony Blair today insisted the case for holding terrorism suspects without trial was 'absolutely compelling' as the government published new legislation allowing detention for 90 days wihout charge.
The anti-terror bill is intended to make it easier for police to arrest and question suspects who may be planning an attack but do not have sufficient evidence against them to be charged.
The bill includes new offences of making preparations for a terrorist act, distributing terrorist publications and undertaking terrorist training, and also aims to tackle extremist preachers who glorify or encourage terrorism."

Terrorism Bill: "A person commits an offence if
(a) he publishes a statement or causes another to publish a statement on his behalf; and
(b) at the time he does so
(i) he knows or believes, or
(ii) he has reasonable grounds for believing,
that members of the public to whom the statement is or is to be published are likely to understand it as a direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism or Convention offences."

The case for arresting Tony Blair is absolutely compelling now. Blair is a fully-fledged terrorist. Even before his 'anti-terror' laws come into force, his police forces shot an innocent man in London.
When this bill is passed it will enable Blair to arrest anyone on grounds of statements 'likely to be understood as encouragement of terrorism'. If there is someone who deserves to be put in jail it is someone who has already used violence without legal backing, in short the Prime Minister himself.

AfterDowningStreet: "By a margin of 50% to 44%, Americans want Congress to consider impeaching President Bush if he lied about the war in Iraq, according to a new poll commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org, a grassroots coalition that supports a Congressional investigation of President Bush's decision to invade Iraq in 2003."

Like George Bush, Blair is a master in using the Reuse, Recycly, Repeat tactic: keep repeating the same lies over and over again. The 'anti-terror' bill is meant to intimidate the population and to eradicate all forms of critique against a government engaged in an illegal and inhuman war.
