Guardian: "The veteran Labour delegate who was ejected from the conference hall for heckling received a hero's welcome when he returned this morning, and won an apology from the platform by John Reid.
Walter Wolfgang came back to a warm reception from rank and file at the Brighton conference, and warned the party 'you can't stifle debate by hiring heavies'.
Tony Blair this morning apologised to the 82-year-old, a Jewish refugee from the Nazis, who was physically ejected from the conference hall yesterday and refused readmission under the prevention of terrorism act."
When Tony Blair considers an aged Labour veteran a 'terrorist threat', he is losing it. If his 'anti-terrorism' laws come through, we know that he is only trying to stifle every form of criticism.
TimesOnline: "What had this evidently very dangerous octogenarian done to forfeit so dramatically the respect that the Prime Minister is always urging upon us in our dealings with others? Ah, well, he had shouted 'Nonsense!' during a speech by the Foreign Secretary. A pity that P. G. There is more sense in some rank and file members than in the 'leadership'.

Bush has a preference for cons or convicts, frauds and criminals, both in his administration and outside. He was one himself and it runs in the family. But maybe he is confusing the 'con' in 'conservative' with the 'con' of 'convict':

The Republican party is well stocked with frauds. Now Bill Frist, the Senate Majority Leader, seems to be involved in a hospital-chain (HCA - owned by the family) racket.
RawStory: "It was the nation's largest for-profit hospital conglomerate - started by Frist's father and until recently run by Frist's brother - that paved the ambitious Senator's way from Vanderbilt University's operating room to Capitol Hill. The company's stock made up most of the doctor's wealth; he spent $3.4 million of his own money in his 1994 Senate campaign.
Frist sold his HCA shares alongside company insiders this July, two weeks before the firm issued a disappointing earnings forecast. Last week, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York subpoenaed the company with regard to Frist's sales. On Wednesday, the Securities and Exchange Commission upgraded its probe of Frist's possible insider trading to a formal investigation."
George W. Bush is putting the con in conservative.
