A picture named Concerto.jpg
The Amsterdam Concertgebouw has removed several ad posters because they were 'sexist'. What is wrong with those people? I have never seen a more decent and stylish ad. BuroRust (click the second block top left) has done a great job.
Ah, there was a time when Amsterdam was progressive and tolerant and fun...

Telegraph: "Colin Powell's right-hand man has launched a blistering attack on the White House, describing President George W Bush as 'cowboyish', his secretary of state Condoleezza Rice as 'extremely weak' and American foreign policy as 'courting disaster'."

FT: "Vice-President Dick Cheney and a handful of others had hijacked the government's foreign policy apparatus, deciding in secret to carry out policies that had left the US weaker and more isolated in the world, the top aide to former Secretary of State Colin Powell claimed on Wednesday."

IPS: "Despite repeated vows by the Pentagon to fully investigate the deaths of all detainees in U.S. custody in Iraq and elsewhere in the 'war on terror', a major human rights group has found a pattern of 'grossly inadequate and flawed investigations' that have made it difficult or impossible to hold perpetrators accountable."

Newsday: "The White House is bracing for possible indictments this week in the CIA leak investigation that could ensnare the single most important aides to both the president and the vice president - a moment of potentially debilitating political danger for a presidency already struggling through its weakest point yet."

(The Emergency Indictment Service is now live. Great joke.)

Independent: "Britain needs nuclear weapons even though they are no use against the threat of terrorism, Tony Blair has announced.
His remarks yesterday were the most public indication yet that the Prime Minister has made up his mind to commit Britain to spending billions of pounds on a new generation of nuclear weapons to replace the ageing Trident fleet."

Is Cuba threatening England again? Or is this a game of 'mine is bigger than yours' among the boys?

Reuters: "Australian authorities have apologised to the family of an elderly man who was given a parking ticket while he lay dead in his car in a suburban shopping centre."

CommonDreams: "Sally-Alice Thompson had to laugh when she got a letter from the Marine Corps' commanding general, telling her the military 'is in need of your service' and inviting her to find out more by sending in an enclosed card."
11:59:08 AM

CommonDreams: "Some contractors leading reconstruction projects in the hurricane-hit southern United States have badly exploited workers and taken away business from local firms, Senate Democrats and labor groups said.
Housing for workers often lacks running water and contractors have failed to provide food, training and wage rates as promised."

NewOrleansIndymedia: "As public housing residents and supporters in the New Orleans area, we demand that the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) and landlords stop using alleged hurricane damage to public housing projects as a pretext for cutting off section 8 payments to its residents. Our association knows full well that the agencies in charge of these housing complexes are using allegations of storm damage to the complexes as a pretext for expelling working class African-Americans, in a very blatant attempt to coopt our homes and sell them to developers to build high-priced housing."
