FoodConsumer: "Two cases of mad cow disease discovered in Texas and Alabama have perplexed scientists, who say that they may be caused by a different strain that appears spontaneously. The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed the existence of this little understood and rare atypical strain, but questions on how these animals were infected in the first place remain unanswered."

CNN: "The cow confirmed last week to be infected with mad cow disease was 12 years old and lived its entire life in Texas, according to John Clifford, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's chief veterinarian.
Unable to walk, the animal was selected for testing at a pet food facility in Waco, Texas, he said."

The area around Waco, Texas seems haunted. First there was the Waco massacre. Then George W. Bush became Waco's first mad president (can't talk properly, no sense of morality).
And, of course, when the mad cows disease raised its ugly head in Texas, someone had to take the blame: Oprah Winfrey.
"In Mad Cow USA we explain how and why Texas cattlemen, at the urging of now-governor Rick Perry, sued Oprah Winfrey in early 1996 for the Texas crime of disparaging beef. Oprah's sin was to host a balanced program on mad cow risks in the United States that aired April 16, 1996."

You are what you eat. Junk food creates junk people.
America, learn to cook.

A picture named America's Grave.jpg US DAT: "In advance of the fall midterm elections in November, the US Department of Art & Technology (US DAT) announces plans to lead an ambitious artistic response mobilization. America on the Brink: A Political Exegesis Under the Aegis of the US DAT, will be open to public viewing at the ATHICA: Athens Institute for Contemporary Art from September 9 - November 5, 2006, in Athens, Georgia.

US DAT participation will confront the dangerous collapse of the separation of church and state in America, which Secretary-at-Large Randall M. Packer believes is leading us steadily down the path to Armageddon. According to Packer, 'the frightening, apocalyptic conditions we see today are expected to worsen as the Far Right Christian Fundamentalists carry out a desperate last ditch effort this fall to save the crumbling, scandal-ridden, fear-mongering, bible-toting, born-again wing of the Republican National Party - the biblical prophecy fulfilled.

For the exhibit Packer will oversee a large site-specific installation consisting of America's Grave, a symbolic burial site for the nation; End of the World Headquarters, an information portal and urgent fact-finding mission to chart the End Times; and the Situational Tours: USA Bible Belt, weekly video dispatches from the Secretary-at-Large, reporting on and documenting extremist religious activity and cultural divisiveness to track the nation's descent into perilous days that lie ahead."

America is preparing it's very own Mullah Bush Mujahedin.
AlterNet: "Gandhi once said if Christians lived according to their faith, there would be no Hindus left in India. He knew how powerful the fundamental tenets of Christianity - fighting poverty, caring for the least among us, loving your enemies, eschewing materialism and embracing humility - could be if everyone who called themselves a Christian truly followed them.

The new documentary, Jesus Camp, which chronicles a North Dakota summer camp where kids as young as 6 are taught to become dedicated Christian soldiers in 'God's army', is an illustration of this sentiment in the extreme.

The star of the film is Pastor Becky Fischer, who explains the startling mission of her 'Kids on Fire' camp: 'I want young people to be as committed to laying down their lives for the Gospel as they are in Pakistan.' At the camp, the children are asked: 'How many of you want to be those who will give up your life for Jesus?' Little hands shoot up from every direction. They are told: 'We have to break the power of the enemy over the government.' At one point, Becky yells: 'This means war! Are you a part of it or not?' More little hands."

The similarity with Islamic fundamentalists is nauseating.
It seems Bush has appointed a new 'head' to his fellow-organization al-Qaeda.
BBC: "Al-Qaeda in Iraq has named a successor to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, days after he was killed in a US air strike."
Apparently, the BBC has good connections with the al-Qaeda network to be informed so quickly.
