AFP: "Russia will no longer respect a key arms treaty that limits the deployment of military forces in Europe, the Kremlin said Saturday in the latest escalation of tensions between Moscow and the West.
President Vladimir Putin signed a decree suspending Russia's adherence to the 1990 Conventional Forces in Europe (CFE) arms control treaty due to 'exceptional circumstances ... broaching on the security of the Russian Federation', the Kremlin said in a statement."
It was to be expected. If the US takes the liberty of placing its offensive weapons right on the Russian doorstep, they shouldn't be surprised.

Andrew Marr is getting old. He seemed to be part of a propaganda campaign today on Sunday AM. (Don't miss the Rory Bremner persiflage.) No spirited questions to the young dog of the Brown team, eager beaver David Miliband. The sly weasel flaunted his media training. The special 'spin smile' when he talked about his 'special relationship with the US'. Did he mean the torture, the lying, the cheating?
It's just the same old crap in a new Brown jacket. Nothing new.
I bet the Alistair Campbell Diary which is now polluting the media is part of the spin. It's a whitewash and a means to sink any real attempt to change the system.
I bet they even have a spin manual like Bush has.
