(US-California-Oakland/East Bay) This position will have worldwide responsibility for Bio-Rad's hemoglobinopathy product lines. Reporting to the Genetics Business Unit Marketing Manager, this person will work closely with colleagues throughout the world to solidify Bio-Rad's leadership position in genetic disorders testing and pursue additional genetics testing opportunities. This position will manage all aspects of Bio-Rad hemoglobinopathy products, including assays, hardware and software. The position's responsibilities include -Managing Bio-Rad's hemoglobinopathy and thalassemia product portfolio -Developing and implementing a long term strategic plan for the product line -Development of new sales tools, product literature, and the company web site. -Establishing and cultivating relationships with opinion leaders in hemoglobin testing -Providing sales and product training to subsidiaries Ph.D. in a Life Science, or Equivalent. MBA preferred. -2+ years experience in sales and/or marketing in Clinical Diagnostics or 5+ years laboratory experience in the analysis of abnormal hemoglobins -An in-depth understanding of instrumentation systems, including hardware, reagents, and software -An understanding of networking software and the potential uses of information systems in hemoglobinopathy testing. -An understanding of HPLC, Electrophoresis, EIA, and Nucleic Acid Technologies. -Strong Verbal and Writing Skills -Ability to travel (at least 25% of time) (50% Domestic/50% international).
