Working With A Bunch Of Monkeys

I didn't watch the Super Bowl last night.  With the time difference, that would have meant staying up well into the wee hours of the night/morning.  Just not worth it to me, though apparently it was worth it to a couple of my students.

Not only did I miss the game, but I also missed the ads (how incredibly superficial am I?).  But thanks to the power of the internet, I am able to browse those costly commercials at my leisure.

The best of the bunch seem to be the Career Builder ads featuring a guy stuck in an office with a bunch of chimpanzees.  Pretty good, but not exactly as good as years past.  Then again, cat herding only comes along once a generation or so.

Here are some links to help you get your capitalist fix:

Terminally Sleeping

Now I'll admit that I don't have much experience sleeping in airports.  Normally I'm not stuck in an airport long enough to need that.  I'll usually crack open a book or pop a dvd in the laptop and kill time that way.

This past Christmas, though, I did get stuck in the Frankfurt airport from 3am until around 10am.  That was a long, sleepy stretch, and I wasn't really prepared for how hard it would be to find a good spot to crash.

Little did I know that this website existed:  The Budget Traveller's Guide to Sleeping in Airports.  It's got the sleeping skinny on over two thousand locations around the world.

After skimming through the thirty-six posts for the Frankfurt airport, I saw that an "insider" who works at the place recommends the exact spot I found:  under the stairs in Hall C.  He's right -- it was dark and pretty quiet.

Wow.  I'm proud of myself.

Next time, though, I'll find an even better spot.  I'll make it my mission in life.  But wait -- I promised myself I'd never do that again.  Scratch that.
