Jim's Pond - Exploring the Universe of Ideas
"Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. It is as when a conflagration has broken out in a great city, and no man knows what is safe, or where it will end." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Gone Fishing

Early Sunday morning the phone rang. It was Mikey. He remembered that I had Monday off. "Let's go to Clear Lake." Mikey said it with that hint of amusement in his voice.

Last I'd heard the lake wasn't fishing very well. "No problem," says Mikey. He found out that there had been two plantings last week. So I thought about it, for around 15 seconds, and said yes.

Great fishing. There was 10,000 lbs. of 4-6 lbs. rainbows and 20,000 lbs. of 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. bows introduced into the lake in those two plantings. They really fought well.

Mikey caught many more fish than I did. He is a great fisherman. I'm just bright enough to pay attention and learn. We both lost track of how many we caught. Today's magic fly? Stayner Ducktail. Great fun!...........
