Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving 1987. Every year since I think back to that day. I was under-employed, making a fraction of what I needed just to survive. That had gone on for nearly two years. My Dad was unemployed and worried.
We gathered around the dinner table for the traditional feast. Our hearts were heavy even though there were lots of good wishes and encouraging words for what the future would bring.
By the next Thanksgiving much had changed. I had been hired by IHC. My Dad was the CFO for Regan Outdoor Advertising. Within a few years Dad was the President of Regan. I spent 10 mostly wonderful years at IHC. We didn't know it at that 1987 Thanksgiving, but good times were near.
I'll never forget the feelings my family shared that year. We gave thanks then. I give thanks now.........
