And here is your lovely parting gift
At 11:30 PM EST tonight I found myself standing at the Delta counter in
the Cincinnati Airport. Yes, I was somewhere in Kentucky, but that's a
different story. Just 6 hours and 30 minutes earlier I'd checked in at
the Charlotte NC Airport, a 58 minute flight from Cincinnati. So, what
went wrong?
Bad weather in Atlanta put our flight, and many others, behind
schedule. And delayed planes really mess up the timing at airports. So
after a long wait and several delays, our plane finally arrived. And
after a quick change of passengers, we were waiting on the runway for
60 additional minutes. By the time we got to Kentucky, we'd missed our
connecting flight by a good 90 minutes. It took another 60 minutes to
clear the Delta counter with hotel vouchers for a discounted hotel
room.
And, on our way to the shuttle Delta presented us with an overnight
bag, since our checked luggage was not available. The kit was filled
with everything, deoderant, tooth paste & brush, razor, shaving
cream, brush, etc. to make our forced Cincinnati holiday a cheery
experience. The equivalent of a lovely parting gift for participating
in the Missed Connections Game................
