Keyless entry is obviously a nice feature on a car. However, I HATE the annoying confirmation beep the horn makes. I think it is downright anti-social. Totally annoying noise pollution at best, harassment at worst. There are many apartment complexes where first-floor bedrooms are adjacent to parking lots--how many neighbors get woken up by late-returning drivers locking their cars?! I would actually be surprised if this hadn't led to blows, or at least vandalism of the offender's car, sometime, somewhere.

Well, I finally have a vehicle with keyless entry (okay, technically my wife has it, our new-used 2002 Grand Caravan). So obviously I had to find out how to turn it off (the manual euphemistically refers to the mini horn blast as a "chirp"), which I did, and was not hard, once you know how to do it.

There should be ordinances against this. Likewise for CAR ALARMS!
