First impressions of Wal-Mart's service...they seem to have the cheapest price around, at $0.26 per 4x6. PhotoWorks was next, at $0.29. Incredibly, others, such as the well-known Shutterfly, are as high as $0.49.

The site gets a C grade. Useable, but flawed. In general, it is cumbersome, too many clicks and servier round trips. Two specific flaws identified. One, it treats each print as a separate order. So if you want to have 40 prints shipped to an address other than your primary address, you have to change it 40 times (via a listbox).

Two, the site is hard-wired to upload all photos for a given calendar day to the same "album". So, if you first upload a batch of photos that you want to send to your parents, then upload a different batch of photos for yourself, guess what--they all go in the same "album". So, to complete your each order, you would have to go in, photo by photo, and enter "1" in the quantity field. Just dumb. But the price was right.
