It sure feels like it, I have two friends that are going through it what seems like every weekend they're gone in Utah at their trainings/seminars. What I've been reading about LGATS (large group awarness trainings) - those are definetly cults. And why is impact training located right in the heart of Mormon country anyways? Alot of things they have described to me are almost identical to the one I just read on the cult awareness and information centre and remember they can only tell me so much about the trainings because they can only share with other group cult members or because I'm not one of them and never ever want to be.
What would happen if they didn't go? What if they missed a session? Would they fall apart? Would the other group members stop talking to them? What if they didn't sign up for the next seminar? What if they didn't recruit anyone? Would they be shunned? Would they stop believing in themselves? Would they stop living a joyful life?
my two cents anyways, I haven't gone to any of these impact trainings and might be willing to listen to the concept if it was somewhere closer. I don't understand why its only in Utah, if its such a great concept, then why not recruit more members in every state, have seminars every Tuesday in big cities across the country. Why hide in Utah? Why do the members have to fly to Utah and pay more money to get to them?
All I know is that one of my friends is really open and share things now..which is great, kind of weird cuz he's my straight guy friend but ok its nice. And that my other friend is all about these trainings and recruiting others to lead a joyful life. You shouldn't need to go to Utah all the time to lead a joyful life and be happy.
**after thought, I don't want to piss anyone off, just my thoughts, maybe one needs to go to these trainings to be joyful and happy**
