Land Ho!

It's high tide right now and I promised my wife I'd hoist the boat out today. Ugh, winter's coming...

Quote worthy thoughts around win/win

From the Rule of Win/Win from Dave Winer:

"How much happier we would be if instead of crippling each other with fear, we competed to empower each others' creativity."

"When you become the only winner, you plant the seeds for your own loss at the same instant."

Need a penny? Take a penny. Got a penny? Leave a penny. Pay it forward. It really is that simple.

The redeemability question

On a beat through the blog of Lisa Williams... came across Down and Out With The Second Superpower where a question is floated, Is the First Super Power irredeemable? Hmmm... as I see it, the First Super Power is bigger than the box it came in. That is, we can't reduce the complexities of emergent Global America to fit in to our tote bags and expect it to be "the whole package". So, yes, in my opinion, it's irredeemable - we can't get back our deposit.

Thoreau said, “It is not enough to be busy . . . what are we busy about?”

I'm fully weaned from TV, and I just realized this morning that I've moved away from news services.

Clutter reduction in progress...
