GEEKBLOG---After spending last week at Apple, going through their excellent training on Mac OS X client and server, several things come to mind.

1) Is Apple stuck at Mac OS X? Has apple invested so much in marketing Mac OS X that from now on every new version of it is going to be Mac OS X? Is there going to be a Mac OS XI? Or, will the next full release (if there ever is one) be Mac OS 11? If it is Mac OS 11 will people think that is eight steps back, won't that look like Apple II? Hey, maybe they could follow their age old hardware example (one I wish they had followed for the iMac, etc.) and go Mac OS Xb.

2) If all the Revisions of Mac OS X have truly just been point releases, why doesn't Apple offer an upgrade path? Is it really fair to expect loyal customers to fork over a full license cost for every point release upgrade?

3) Lastly, why doesn't Apple market the power of its server product more aggressively? Mac OS X Server is a truly awesome cross platform Network Operating System. In mixed OS shops you can define your domains in Netinfo and your Netinfo domain becomes a Windows domain. If you are a mostly Mac shop who needs Active Directory?
