Another day in Paradise
Steve Sloan's weblog. A bit tech, a bit bikes, a bit family, a bit friends, a bit yoga, a bit photo, a bit trains, and a bit fun. Eight bits; that's a byte!

Jeanne Meadows Memorial Ride, July 12
Ten years ago, on July 3, 1993, ACTC riders rode to the top of Mt. Hamilton and dedicated the bench at the top in the memory of Jeanne Meadows. This bench and the memory of Jeanne has been an inspiration to both those who knew Jeanne and those who have followed after her.

Many of us who rode to the top of the mountain for the first time felt as though we had done something that would have seemed impossible for us just a short time before. On the top of the mountain we found the bench and read on its dedication plaque the inspiring words of Jeanne. Now the bench needs a coat of paint. Please come ride with us and celebrate the life and words of Jeanne and the wonderful things she, and we, have been able to achieve on our bicycles.

Ride will be SAG'd and appropriate refreshments will be served at the top.

Loma Almaden (Mount Umunum) Ride
Yesterday evening we had an ambitious Whine and Dine ride. We went up Kennedy, up Hicks and up Loma Almaden. It was an awesome climb. But, it was awesomely pretty. We made it back in the last glimmers of twilight. I will never forget that ride or the four buddies who waited for me and made sure I made it down safe, Thanks Guys!
