Good Customer Service
This is a tale of good and bad customer service. The good customer service is from Smith, the maker of sports eye wear. I have a pair of Smith Moab sunglasses. They have prescription inserts for my prescription lenses. I have had the glasses for a few years and the nose bridges rotted away. I went back to the store that sold them to me and all they could do for me was offer to sell me new inserts, including the nose bridge, for $50. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me two replacement nose bridges for free.
Bad Customer Service
The bad customer service is from Sprint, the cell phone people. I am a long term cell phone customer of theirs. I stayed their customer even after my contract expired. Sadly, my old (huge by today's standard) cell phone started acting funny. So, I went to my local Sprint store. The phone I wanted was $200 but they'd give me a $50 credit for being a Sprint customer. I said, how come it says here the phone is $99. The salesman said, "that's only for new customers." I said, "since my contract has expired is there any way I can get that price?" He said, "yes, but I can't do that for you." He said, "You will have to call customer service, cancel your Sprint account, then come in and I can sign you up as a new customer. But," he said, "you will lose your phone number!" I said, "why should I stay with Sprint if I am loosing my phone number!" So, I went down and signed up for Verizon . I love my new phone, it works great!
