Album currently:  Radiohead - "Hail to the Thief"

How much "art" is pleasing to us merely because it is pleasing or because it enhances our stature with someone as conisseurs of said artistic medium, even if the given work is not something we've ever been exposed to any reviewer's opinion on?  Seems that whether it's the "trendy"-bopping crowd or the indier-than-thou crowd, there are more forces at work than mere personal tastes oftentimes.

Or maybe that's just me...

Noticed yesterday evening that our chickens have arrived for the summer; probably only thirty or so, in my estimation, which is less than we sometimes raise.  They usually stay cute and docile for about 2 weeks before they start getting large and violent.

No, this does not mean that I live on a farm.  One lives on a farm when one farms for a living, which my family does not, though we do keep some chickens and a small garden with some corn and strawberries (traditional, for the most part, we've done that as long as I can remember).  We used to keep a couple of cows every year, though it's been several since we've done that.
