Tokyo replaces Hong Kong as world's most expensive city (according to this survey anyway).

The survey, which uses New York as the base city with a score of 100 points, measures the comparative cost of more than 200 items including housing, food, clothing, household products, transport and entertainment.

Asuncion has an index of 36.5 points while Tokyo is about 3 1/2 times costlier at 126.1 points.

Looks like moving to Asia is on the outs....

There's a new round of questions and answers over at TORn.  I likely learn more about Tolkien from them than anything else. (Heck it's easier than reading page after page of mind-numbing backstories like The Silmarillion).

Another question is posed about Sauron's physical mannifestation, seems like enough textual evidence is there to say that S had some physical form, though terrible to behold, at the end of the Third Age.  What will be interesting to see is if PJ and Co. decide to show us anything other than a big flaming eyeball.  It would seem to benefit them to do so, since the audience reacts more to an actual tangible villain onscreen.  Though there may be reasons as well why they might not (too controversial, would rather keep him cloaked up in mystery, etc.)  We'll see what happens in about 6 months.  (Perhaps the palantir confrontation between Aragorn and Sauron would be a nice time to break him out?  wink, wink,)

Other musings:  My odds are about even money saying that this film will be closer to four hours than three.  Not that I would mind that, of course.  Just wagering based on how long it's taken to develop what we've seen so far and how much is (likely) left (not counting events that could be removed, and others that you know will certainly be added, like more Arwen/Aragorn gushiness.)
