Past futurism "What will the world be like in A.D. 2000? (First published in 1953)! "
I love reading stuff like this, though it's not surprising that something written 50 years ago would be so far adrift. I think even reading something from 1990 (from what I can remember) would show a pretty markedly different picture of "now" than what "now" is.
It's also a good caution against trying to read too much into the future "now."
