More speculation about RotK/Sauron I talked about this about a month ago, but TORn has a much more in-depth look at what we might or might not see of Sauron in "Return of the King." Looks like the popular speculation is that the big flaming eye is all we'll get, which is a little disappointing but better than some bizarre extra-textual idea of Sauron coming out to fight himself against the Western forces at the Morannon.
As a compensation, though, it looks like we'll get a fully-decked-out Witch-King to look at (according to another post on the site.)

Tour de France I'm sure a lot of people in this country could tell you that Lance Armstrong currently sits second after 5 stages of the Tour de France, but I'm guessing a lot smaller number could tell you who's leading the race.
There is, I'm sure, a twofold reason for that. One being that there is little to no chance that Victor Hugo Pena will win the race. The second, and more likely, is that most Americans simply don't care about the race other than Armstrong, and that I find unfortunate.

A self-defeating proposition The Internet is Shit
I'll assume you've probably seen this by now, (it's been in the Daypop top 40 all week) but I couldn't resist a post since I am one of those people (eg Bloggers) who go on and on about how wonderful the internet is.
Now I don't want to jump on the author relentlessly and in so doing eschew the valid point or two he may make here. But pointing out a couple misuses of the 'net doesn't make it a gratuitous invention any more so than pointing out the faults of the telephone or other such contraptions of man that have changed the way humans have done business over the years. The internet is not a replacement for libraries or bars, but a natural augmentation of them, as there's nothing really new under the sun. That some are afraid of the web because it challenges their presuppositions doesn't make it useless.
(By the way, a note to my future blind dates, please no googling, since we've already found out what that turns up. :-) )
Wouldn't want you to be afraid or anything.
