E-Mail Newsletters

E-mail newsletters are the best investment you can make in your holistic health business. They cost nothing (except your Internet connection). They are fairly easy to put together, a few hours each time you send it out.

And the results are amazing. I can't tell you how many positive things that have happened from my e-mail newsletter. New clients signing up. People remembering to include me in promotional events. Renewals of friendships of old clients.

Here's the biggest secret about e-mail newsletters. Include community information OTHER THAN just your own services. Include news items that your clients might like to hear about (a new health food store opening, etc.) and helpful information for them (job openings, etc.). I know of 5-10 people who have been found jobs just as a result of my e-mail newsletter. The receptionist at the chiropractic office I visited today looked at my name on the form and said "Thank you, Daryl." She found her receptionist job by reading my e-mail newsletter. Wasn't that fulfilling for me!

If you want to join my e-mail newsletter to see what one's like, feel free. They're dead simple and definitely worthwhile for your holistic business.

Article on "Writing a Great Ad for Your Holistic Business"

I did this article on writing an advertisement for a holistic health business in a recent issue of Massage & Bodywork magazine. Feel free to read it, make copies for your friends, etc.

I went out and interviewed six other people around the world who specialize in helping holistic health practitioners with their business issues. They all gave me great information. I pulled it together and created the article. Well, there might be some of my own advice sprinkled in there too, who knows??

Today's Plan

I'm writing this before I start my day, so we'll see if I really get it done. I have my chiropractor appointment today and am also going to give blood at the Red Cross.

Today I would like to start doing the storyboard for one of the bigger classes. To explain, I've planned for five classes to be introduced in January:

Business Planning - Dreaming Forward (Web-based)
Marketing Planning - Expressing Your Uniqueness (Web-based)
Getting Focused with Your Business (free e-mail class)
A Holistic Approach to Small Business Health Insurance (free e-mail class)
    Marketing Isn't Advertising (teleclass)

I'm going to take one of the Web-based classes (Biz Planning) and start a storyboard for it. That will give me the planning tools to see what needs to be done between now and January 15. Yikes!! Then I'll do that for each of the classes and then start doing the individual items from the storyboard. Remember, the storyboard items were things like "video clip here" and "lecture here." Those are excellent units for managing this project.

I also need to do my weekly e-mail newsletter before the end of today. I think there are almost four hundred names on that list by now. People have been signing up like crazy lately. If you want to sign up for the free e-mail newsletter, with updates on the classes, you can do it here.
