Instead of Christmas Carols

My wife and I both can't stand Christmas Carols, so we play Tom Waits music while we're opening gifts instead. It's very soothing, kind of jazzy and doesn't stick in your head for days and weeks making you nuts.

Little Drummer Boy, anyone? I didn't think so.

Social Entrepreneurship

I read a great article in Fast Company magazine today about social entrepreneurship. There is a company named Ashoka that tries to foster socially-minded entrepreneurs around the world to make the world a better place and make money doing it.

To me, that's whole key behind all our classes at the Simplicity Institute too. If you can simultaneously be making the world a better place with your business focus, and be making money, that's a good life. And holistic health services is a great place to start.

Christmas Day

I've resolved not to do any work today, even though I've basically taken this whole week off, what with eye surgery, car problems twice, and snow shovelling.

We decided to exchange charity donations with my family this year instead of gifts. Our Christmas area (no tree) looks a little empty this year, but otherwise I'm glad we did it.

Time to open the gifts we do have! And to get my wife off the phone for a few minutes so we can get upstairs!
