With several sources reporting that Microsoft is using its marketing budget in Europe to try to "persuade" governments and businesses to swear off this Linux fantasy, I found this Wired News piece a wonderful antidote. (Thanks, ComputerWorld, for the link)
Briefly: The front-runner in the campaign for mayor of Zaragoza, Spain went to a Linux User Group meeting and came out of it with the zeal of a convert. It sounds like all this local leader of the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers Party--nothing like the party of the same name in the US, or the UK for that matter) talks about on the stump is on Tux-ifying local government. Best of luck to him.

The Daily Bleed
As a history major, I’m a sucker for “This Day in History” features. There are more than a few of these on the Web, but this one’s unique. Put together by anarchist clerks at Recollection Bookstore in Seattle, you’ll find items here about workers struggles, anarchists and other radicals, poets and writers. And many of the items come with links, so you can explore even further. You can even get (as I do) email excerpts (each day’s entry is so long they can’t include it all in the mail).
The information is interesting, and the style unmatched. Enjoy!

...sorry for the delay
It's been a busy weekend for me. I am hip-deep in three other projects while trying to launch this blog, so my surfing time has been at a premium of late. But I intend to push forth, and have a few things to pontificate on. You'll see these shortly.
