Fellow blogger Jim Capo has posted that he is going to file as the Libertarian candidate in the District 7 Guilford County Commissioner's race as soon as they let him.  His opponents most likely will be District 7 incumbent Mary Rakestraw (R) and currently-at-large incumbent Mike Barber (D).

This is going to be interesting fer sher.

Ed Cone has gone fishing for a local investigative reporter.  The very smelly bait he is using consists of equal parts Project Homestead, Oasis Mortgage and the FBI.

I'd at least make the phone call if I were in the scoop business.

According to Guilford County's recent property transfers listed in yesterday's N&R, the new baseball stadium site just got a teeny bit larger. (Thanks Michael)

Downtown Greensboro Renaissance, LLC (DGR) - a wholly owned subsidary of the Joseph Bryan Foundation - just bought the property located at 407 North Eugene Street from Joann Harris for $300,000.  The art-deco building that sits on the property is The Palms - Greensboro's oldest gay night club.

The purchase price comes in nearly $80 per square foot for the tiny parcel.  In contrast, the taxpayers of Guilford County got almost $12.00 per square foot for their property in the 2002 Exchange Agreement with DGR,LLC.

Supply and demand is a wonderful concept, right Ms. Harris?  Where will we now have to go to take in a proper drag show?
