In today's N&R, columnist Lorraine Ahearn offers a hilarious tongue-in-cheek word-play on a well-known local campaign slogan.  She lampoons the school bus scheduling problems we are experiencing in getting to our magnet school students to and from their respective desks:  In her story, Dr. Grier retorts, "... get outta here." 

If you don't get it, you're not from Guilford County, NC.  Sorry.

In advance of tonight's opening ceremony for the Summer Olympics, Mr. Sun gives us a run down on some of the newly sanctioned Olympic events, among the offerings:

Atkins-Friendly Individual Medley. Swim one lap, eat a cheeseburger. Swim another lap. Eat some KFC. It's the low carb swimming event that is taking the Olympics by storm!
