Busy, busy weekend.
I have been attending a fundraiser for the Women's Resource Center called "Men can Cook" since it's inception two years ago. I figure it was time for Greensboro to taste my BBQ ribs and signed up to participate. If you get a chance, come on down to the Empire Room on Elm Street from 5 to 7:30 tomorrow. There will be some great food offered. Its for a great cause.
Today and tomorrow I will parboil, cook and singe around 400 ribs and soak them in my Jinni's sauce, the ingredients of which are so secret that even I must leave the kitchen when she throws it together.

This morning, I am meeting a bunch of folks from Agents of Grace at Aycock School. I had a load of mulch delivered last week in anticipation of a crew of forty to show up and help spruce the campus up. Then the rain came.
I'm not sure how many will show up, but I'll be there to point them to what needs to be done. I'll not be much help, though. An "old football injury" in my knee came back to life yesterday as a result of working on a ladder twenty feet up. I'll be gimping around for a few days.

My Maria Johnson called one last time on Wednesday for one last Clarification in advance of a feature article on moi in tomorrow's N&R. She has been working on it a long time and I am both anxious and giddy about how the article will read. I really don't have clue as to what direction the article will take, but I am anticipating only positives to come from it.
The front page of this morning's N&R might have given a hint of where the "piont of view" of the article might be headed. A tickler at the bottom of the page reads: Coming Sunday - A look at the world of David Hoggard - Aycock's activist, agitator and advocate. Life (section)
I have a feeling that tomorrow, between rib cooking and 'splainin myself, it will be a different kind of Sunday.
