Plead the First is carving out a previously un-filled place within the local blogosphere with his locally flavored political cartoons. His latest effort jabs at Commissioner Skip Alston, a man I defended in a post last week. The N&R re-printed the opinion yesterday in their "Mixing it Up" segment of the editorial page.
I used to be a frequent contributor to the N&R's letters to the editor, but not so much since I started this blog. However, from the 'man on the street' reaction to yesterday's print edition re-post from my blog, I realize I need to get back to writing Allen Johnson and staff directly every 30 days or so. I keep forgetting that not everyone reads weblogs (yet).
Despite being voted as GoTriad's 'Best Blog', my daily readership in still tiny compared to the editorial pages of the N&R. In the future, when I have have something to say which I feel strongly about, I would do my opinion a great disservice if I only post my take on Hogg's Blog.
If local bloggers want an audience with a meaningful number of readers, we still should rely on the printed page of our local daily to get our message across to the masses.
